Wow, did you see Jake Brown’s incredible fall while skateboarding in the X Games last weekend? Scary stuff. Thankfully, Brown was wearing a skateboard helmet, and had experienced medical professionals “at the ready.”
Beth Shuster from the L.A. Times wrote of her experience witnessing the skateboarding injury. Her perspective is unique: from a mom who witnessed it live, along with her son. We can all use this high profile incident as an opportunity to discuss skateboard safety with our kids. Seeing Jake’s scary fall can be an opening to talk about why wearing a skateboard helmet, skate pads, and skateboard wrist protection is important. Skateboard safety gear, especially a skate helmet, can make a difference. Wear yours today.
From everyone at XSportsProtective – we send our wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Jake.
